Setting Up Division and Sub Division




To enter all the records into Surf Accounts by Division and Sub division set up your business locations. To setup ‘Division and Sub division’ in Surf Accounts select Settings» Accounts » Division the following screen will appear. 



Enter the following details here.

Use Divisions/ Sub Division

Select the check box to use ‘Divisions’ and ‘Subdivisions’.


Short: Enter the short description here. This could be maximum of 3 characters. The short code of division is displayed as Division column in all transaction browses where division is applicable. The short code of sub division is displayed as Subdivision column in all the transaction browses if it is applicable.  

Long: Enter the description here.

Division 1/ Sub Division 1

Enter the code and the description of ‘Division 1’ in this column. The code can be maximum of 5 characters. For e.g. if you have an establishment at Dublin you may enter IE as code “Dublin Office” as description.

Division 2 / Sub Division 2

Enter the code and the description of ‘Division 2’ in this column. The code can be maximum of 5 characters. For e.g. if you have an establishment at London you may enter UK as code and ‘London Office’ as description. 

Add Division / Sub division

The default setting will allow you to enter two divisions. If you wish to add more divisions simply select “ADD” button. A new column for ‘Division’ will appear.

Note: As per business requirement you can choose ‘Division’ only but not the ‘Sub Division’.



Delete Division / Sub Division

To delete a Division (or Subdivision) simply select the ‘Delete’ option. Please note, if the division and sub division is used in transaction, system will not allow deleting the Division.

Default Division/ Sub Division

You can set the default Division / Sub Division from the Division Settings of Surf Accounts. The default Division and Sub division appears in all the transaction browses until and unless it’s contact specific.
