For service-based businesses, you may now record the time and expenses spent on customers and then invoice accordingly. This enables you to better manage the productivity of collaborative team work and track the profitability associated with each customer. |

Getting Started Guide |
As you get started with Time & Expenses, there are a couple of key decisions you'll need to make up front: |
How many Time Users will you have? |
Time users (i.e. users whose time you wish to record) are individually chargeable in Surfaccounts, so you may want to consider the costs involved before setting the users up. |
Do you want to record time on a per-project basis? |
This is a key decision that you need to make before starting to record time, so it's worth considering your business requirements before commencing. |
The use of projects on your customers allows greater granularity on the analysis of time spent and profitability attained on each part of your business, but this may not be required for the type of business you do. For example, you may do Consultancy and Compliance for your customers, and wish to analyse & invoice these activities separately. If you do, you will need to enable projects, and projects will be required on all customers’ time recorded. |
Once you've made these key decisions, you can follow the Getting Started Guide below. |
