Setting up Projects for Time & Expenses

Overview

For service-based businesses, you may now record the time and expenses spent on customers and then invoice accordingly.  This enables you to better manage the productivity of collaborative team work and track the profitability associated with each customer.

Setting up Projects for Time & Expenses

In Surf Accounts user will be able to add a project related to “Time & Expense” for the Business. To add projects through Surf Accounts select the “Contact” Tab and select customer to open the business information page. Under the “Sub contacts Information an option will appear as “Projects”. To add a project a pop up will appear in the screen as “Add Project”.

Code

Enter the code of the project. This is the brief description of the project you enter into Surf Accounts for a business. This code will be in upper case.  This is a mandatory field.

Description

Enter the description of the project. For e.g. if you are entering Audit project for the business you can enter a complete description of the project as Audit Work for the financial year 2012-13. This is a mandatory field.

Save

To save the project within Surf Accounts select the ‘Save’ button.

Please note Project can only be added if the staff has the access to “Add a Project” under Time & Expense dropdown from the “User Access” menu.
